Warm, welcoming and laid-back Ca'n Reus is a charming townhouse with bags of character in one of Mallorca's prettiest mountain villages. Tucked away down a narrow cobbled street, Can Reus is decorated in a unique style that feels more like a friendly, antique filled home than a hotel. The large elegant entrance hall, with it's high wood beamed ceiling, stretches the full length of the house and leads through to a delightful terrace and garden with swimming pool. The views from here are stunning, with the scenic Tramuntana mountains acting as a backdrop to groves of oranges and lemons.
Inside there are also areas to relax and enjoy. There's a 'snug' with sofas and a log fire for winter evenings, and two dining areas where a breakfast feast is served each morning. All seven bedrooms are decorated differently but all have a charming homely feel. The Puig Major Suite is a popular choice, brimming with Mallorcan antiques, and so to is the Garden Room, with it's large french windows and unique rustic bathroom.
Ca'n Reus changed hands in October 2003 and is now run by Sue Guthrie, a keen walking enthusiast. The surrounding area is ideal for walkers of all capabilities and Sue is always at hand with friendly advice and local walking information. The hotel and Fornalutx is perfectly suited for outdoor fanatics all year round. As well as an abundance of unspoilt mountain paths, the area is also popular with cyclists, and a variety of water sports are on offer in Port Soller (15 minutes drive from Fornalutx).
8 Double Rooms 1 Junior Suite All bedrooms have a charming, homely feel, eclectically decorated with individual furnishings. The 'mountain view' rooms are at the back of hotel overlooking the garden, pool and terracing. The Junior Suite 'Puig Major' has a large antique bed and a sitting area with windows looking out to the mountains.
On reservation, directions will be sent to you. Ca'n Reus is centrally located in the the pretty mountain village of Fornalutx. Three kilometres to Soller and another three kilometres to the Port and small beach. Fornalutx is approx 45 minutes from Palma airport.
The picture postcard villages of Fornalutx, Deia and Biniaraix. Walking/Hiking - This area is ideal if you enjoy walking or hiking. Soller is a small, elegant and arty town, set at the end of the breathtaking mountain steam train ride from Palma. Port de Soller, reached by a quaint tram from Soller, is a low-key seaside resort, with a small sandy beach and plenty of boats to take you up the coast to visit pretty Cala Tuent and the breathtaking Torrent de Pareis.
