Elegant five star Gran Son Net is a decadent, romantic hideaway, perfect for a luxurious treat or honeymoon. The manor house is perched in an enviable position, looking down to the nearby ancient village of Puigpunyent, and looking up at the imposing Mount Galatzo. With glorious views, grandiose interiors and fine service, this hotel is all about being pampered in spacious elegant surrounds.
Dating from 1672, the building is steeped in history and has retained many ancient features from it's aristocratic past. The traditional central patio and well have been preserved, the charming chapel restored, and the original stone flagged floors and wood beams grace most of the communal areas. The bedrooms are all individual, sumptuous and elegant, with all the expected five star luxuries and modern comforts. The gourmet restaurant is just as impressive. Centred around a restored olive press, fresh local ingredients are impeccably served under the guidance of L’Orangerie (a Los Angeles restaurant with several gastronomic international awards). The best place to dine is out on the pretty terrace, where refined white linen topped tables look out across the scenic valley.
These peaceful, splendid views can also be admired from the huge 100ft infinity pool, it's expansive terraces or from the intimacy of one of the poolside cabanas. All around there's a sense of privacy and tranquil space, whether amidst the numerous gardens, terraces or citrus groves. To totally unwind there’s a sauna, Jacuzzi and the Son Net Beauty Centre, with an extensive array of massages and beauty treatments. For active types, the hotel has a gym and a clay tennis court, whilst nearby there are five golf courses and plenty of hiking opportunities.
The peace and luxury of Gran Son Net is very enticing, however it is also perfectly located to explore the rest of the island. The dramatic landscapes of the Tramuntana Mountains are on it's doorstep and are equally enjoyable by foot, bicycle or car. Also nearby are the charming villages of Deia and Valldemossa, and it’s only a 20 minute drive to the lively city of Palma or to golden beaches.
