Estellenc village Estellenc beach

Set in the heart of the picturesque coastal village of Estellencs, Hotel Nord is a charming, small hotel that has been decorated with thought and taste.

Originally a large town house, the hotel has been beautifully restored by it's owner, Antonia, to create a welcoming, laid back place. The centre of the house opens up into a delightful outdoor patio, providing a peaceful place for breakfast or a relaxed evening meal. The hotel has terraces from which to enjoy the sun, and a lounge complete with wood fire for cosy winter nights.

Outside, the steep narrow cobbled streets and honey stone houses offer peaceful surrounds, and there's a smattering of restaurants (international and Mallorcan) and bars. Whilst further down the hill, there's a pleasant shingle beach cove with crystal clear water and a beach bar.  The village sits on the side of one of the Tramuntana mountain peaks, Mount Galatzo, and provides great views out to sea and easy access into the mountains.

What's nearby

Walking/Hiking - This area is ideal if you enjoy walking or hiking.  The Tramuntana mountain range is a hikers paradise and is on Estellencs doorstep.  There are some pretty walks both in the mountains and along the coast.  Good local walks are detailed in the Sunflower Edition 'Landscapes of Mallorca' or 'Mallorca Mountains'.

Valldemossa is set at the top of a picturesque valley.  The highlight here is the royal monastery – the Reial Cartoixa made famous by George Sand and Frederic Chopin.   Due to its close proximity to Palma, Valldemossa does attract the day trippers however the town still retains its charm and is featured on many postcards.

Deia is a magical place inhabited by artists, writers and the wealthy. The writer Robert Graves is famed for living here. The village sits strikingly on a hillside between the rising mountains and the sea.  The village has a laid back bohemian feel with a selection of good restaurants and bars.  Just a 20 minute walk from the village is a pebbled beach cove with a charming bar which provides a good place to swim and relax in a dramatic setting.
