Tucked down a narrow street in Palma’s old town, this former 16th century palace has been radically converted into a hip contemporary hotel. On entering the four star Palau Sa Font, the tone for this unique city hotel is soon set. Vibrant colours, modern art works and designer furniture welcome guests to the spacious reception and bar area. The funky bold decor is in contrast to the ancient old town outside, and is proving a hit with Palma's stylish visitors. From the entrance, the hotel extends upwards and outwards. The interior oozes arty style, as commissioned sculptures twist down stairwells and brighten up patios. The stairwell (or lift) climbs several floors to a relaxed rooftop terrace from which to admire Palma’s cityscape, harbour and the imposing cathedral.
The bedrooms are spread out on each level and are hip yet calm and soothing. All come with modern comforts, cleverly hidden behind aesthetic facades to add an uncluttered, sleek style. For relaxation, the former palace has an open courtyard complete with loungers and designer swimming pool. This is an ideal place to recharge the batteries before hitting the near-by shops, good restaurants and bustling nightlife. For bars, there's plenty of choice, but a night out is not complete without venturing inside Abaco - an extraordinary cocktail bar full of fresh flowers and fruit!
Palau Sa Font and Palma offer the quintessential city break. The city's rising reputation as a vibrant and cultural place to visit is perfectly complimented by the hotel's location, ambience and style.
