An elegant spacious country house hotel combined with a Michelin Star restaurant make Read’s one of the most luxurious and established ‘other Mallorca’ hotels.
Read’s was the concept of Vivien Read, who bought the house in a dilapidated state in 1988 and spent the next seven years, along with the rest of his family, renovating the hotel into its current glory. The interior is very unique and attention to detail is everywhere. All the rooms have been generously decorated with antique furniture, and several of the main rooms are lined with amazing frescoes in the style of 17th/18th century Italian Masters.
Large terraces and landscape gardens surround the hotel and give ample opportunity to enjoy the magnificent views of the Tramuntana mountain range. All the necessary luxuries can be found here, such as an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, sauna, solarium, small gymnasium and jacuzzi.
When all this relaxation and pampering gets a little too much, the hotel's central location means it’s never too far to explore the island and discover the real Mallorca!
Read´s can also cater for small meetings or conferences. With rooms for private lunches, dinners or conferences for up to 22 people (boardroom style). The hotel also has ISDN facilities.
Read’s restaurant has a Michelin Star and international reviews hold it amongst the top restaurants in the whole of Spain. "Prepare to be amazed!" Hello Magazine "The welcome, the ambience, the professionalism, the wines and especially the food were outstanding" Raymond Blanc "British Chef Marc Fosh, is in my opinion, the best on the Island" London Evening Standard
All rooms are individually designed and have heating, air conditioning, satellite television and complimentary bathrobes/slippers.
The Junior Suites are on the ground floor, are larger than the deluxe rooms and have their own private terrace looking straight out to the gardens.
All Suites are very spacious with a lounge and private terrace.
The Princess Suite is the transformation of two large double rooms. The bedroom is decorated in a similar traditional style and high quality to the other rooms, however the lounge has a much more modern air. Equipped with a NAD CD system with speakers connected in the bathroom and Sony Wega flat screen TV, means modern luxuries can be enjoyed in a country setting.
The King Suite is a lavish combination of rich colour/ textures, bold furnishings and high quality (Julian Chichester) furniture. The suite has many luxuries with a full sized Jacuzzi, walk in power shower, marble double wash basins and separate toilet and bidet. The views of the landscape gardens, vineyards and Tramuntana mountains are equally impressive from the large floor to ceiling windows or the private terrace.

On reservation, a direction map will be sent to you. Located about 20 minutes northeast drive from Palma airport in between Palma and Inca and 2km north of Santa Maria. It is also 4km from Alaro where the Tramuntana mountains begin.
There are a few traditional villages and towns such as Santa Maria, Consell, Binissalem and Alaro in the vicinity with restaurants, bars and weekly markets.
Alaro - Sitting at the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains, Alaro is one of the prettiest towns in Mallorca. Life is focussed around a large attractive square with a statuesque church at one end and cafes and restaurants at the other (Traffic Restaurant comes highly recommended).
Walking/Hiking - This area is ideal if you enjoy walking or hiking. The Tramuntana mountain range is a hikers paradise and is located less than 4km to the north. There are also some pretty walks around Santa Eugenia and Ses Coves where you can explore the local villages and hamlets and enjoy some amazing views north towards the Tramuntana mountains and west towards Palma Bay. Good local walks are detailed in the Sunflower Edition 'Landscapes of Mallorca' or 'Mallorca Mountains'.
