Would definitely recommend. Stayed for 4 nights in twin bedded room with courtyard view. (Tip: Courtyard rooms much quieter at night...worth paying more for one). Breakfast excellent. Good selection of food which did change slightly each day. Even able to have bucks fizz for breakfast!!! Hotel in superb location for everything. No lift in hotel so be prepared to carry luggage up lots of stairs. Used dining room for breakfast as too cool to eat outside in courtyard in February. Staff very friendly and helpful and spoke English. Our room was a good size with plenty of storage space. Really enjoyed our stay. Easy to find...just look for C & A and hotel situated on the left in narrow street next to the store.

The staff was great. Very helpful all of them. Location was perfect in the heart of it all. The buses we feet away from the hotel. Hotel was really interesting and old. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Courtyard was beautiful. It has stairs only, so I would not suggest it for elderly people.

A real jewel! Great location, good service and a step back in time. The hotel is beautifully done and provides the ambience of a 17th century Nobleman's house. The location for the exploration of Palma is superb! The Mallorcans, known for their hospitality really make this hotel a great find! Book early for the best rooms overlooking the courtyard! The Hotel Born is definitely *four star plus* when it comes to service, atmosphere and courtesy. We loved it!

Hotel Born is in an excellent central position, but still manages to be
quiet. (We did have a courtyard room, but we thought it would have been
quiet anyway.) Staff were helpful, the breakfast was good, the ambience was
Spanish. Very good value for money. Only problem was a hard mattress. 9/10

The Hotel Born was centrally located in Palma to all the sights/restaurants/ shops. The building itself was full of character and you could tell the building when it was a 16th century palace was once very grand. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty and set you up for the day. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The only drawback was the
situation of the room. If My Husband and I stayed again (and we probably
would) we would pay the extra for a courtyard room as the room we were in
was on a side street and we heard some noise at night. All in all a very good hotel at an excellent budget price.

This hotel has a fantastic location, making it a great base from which to
explore the city of Palma. Our bedroom with two (small) double four-poster
beds was spacious. The bathroom was a bit cramped. Breakfast in the courtyard was a great way to start the day. We enjoyed our time there and would recommend this hotel as good value for money.

Very quiet and peaceful despite being right in the heart of Palma. The rooms are spacious and lovely facing onto the courtyard. We were a group of 4 women on a short break - we loved this hotel. The staff were pleasant, the breakfast was adequate but the star was the building itself - gorgeous staircase and patio and large bedrooms and bathrooms. The location was superb - right in the centre, 100 metres from a popular pleasant bar and the same distance from the tourist bus. All in all wonderful value for money. The only negative comment would be about the noise in the top floor single bedrooms - much better to share and look over the patio.

Traditional, grand, town house, very conveniently situated just off Ave. Jaime III. Lovely entrance and inner courtyard. Helpful staff. We had a room overlooking the courtyard which was lovely and quiet; you wouldn't have guessed we were right in the centre of Palma. Beds - comfy. Decor of rooms - clean, tidy, well kept, but basic. En suite - clean and a good, hot shower after all the walking we did was most welcome. The central heating (needed at this time of year) was rather stifling, but thermostats sorted that out! Breakfasts were the usual serve yourself assortment, although some Brits might be disappointed there were no options for a 'fry-up'! the biggest drawback? No lifts - and the hotel extends over four floors. We were on the 3rd floor, so after walking round seeing the sights all day, the hike up to our room was a bit of a trial. Certainly not for the infirm or disabled. All in all - 8/10 for authenticity, atmosphere and general standard and convenience of location. Would we go back? Definitely!

Prime location, clean, comfortable, excellent value. Continental breakfast average but good coffee and a lovely patio with palm trees to sit in. No elevator evident so lots of stair-climbing. Friendly day staff. No fridge but rooms have air-conditioning and are spacious. Definitely 8 out of 10 and we'd stay there again anytime.

My friend and I stayed at the Hotel Born in Palma for 4 nights. We had reserved a Junior Suite at 114 Euros plus tax but were bitterly disappointed with the room as it was very dark and overlooked the little side street which was very noisy and we were disturbed for much of the night. Also, the shower did not work. We asked to be moved and on the second night we were given a standard room on the 4th floor. What a difference ! For 85 Euros we got a nice airy, light room overlooking the courtyard. Everything worked and it was very quiet. In our experience, it is not worth paying extra for a Junior Suite, particularly if it is overlooking the street. In general, we were very impressed with this beautiful authentically Mallorcan hotel and the staff were very helpful. Very good breakfast and the location is superb. Would definitely recommend it - but not the Junior Suites !

Hotel was excellent, very clean, lots of character, lovely courtyard, staff very helpful, ideally located if you want to explore the centre of the city and the sea front. Considering it is a budget hotel 10 out of 10. Our first visit to Majorca and will definitely come again. Stayed in Palma for 7 nights, but next time we will do a two centre holiday. Plenty to do in Palma for 3 or 4 days. Went to Soller by train and then to Port De Soller by tram, found it very busy. Booked a coach trip to Formentor and Port De Pollensa through the hotel, fantastic views near Formentor, returned to the coach at Port De Pollensa by boat across the bay, beautiful part of the island. Can thoroughly recommend the Born Hotel, Palma and the North coast of the island.

Beautiful hotel, situated inconspicuously in a side alley slap bang in the centre of the old town. Rooms were a little basic, but for the price with a buffet breakfast that was more than adequate, and friendly, helpful staff it is well recommended for anyone who likes a little old fashioned chic, doesn't mind a bit of 'character' and is expecting bell boys tripping over themselves to help, ie perfect for the traveller. 9/10 - 1 off as the plumbing had Spanish presence.

I stayed at Hotel Born with my mother for four days. It was a lovely hotel, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. My only gripe would be the absence of a lift, and three flights of stairs was rather a lot for my mum to do everyday, however it was a beautiful building and centrally located for all our trips around and out of town.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Born in Palma. The hotel is central for the major sights and shopping. The appearance of the outside of the hotel (on a narrow side street) is deceiving, as the door opens onto an impressive palatial lobby area (which passers by stop to marvel at!). The rooms have lovely dark wood furniture, fairly simply furnished, but really nice and also clean. We looked forward each morning to our breakfasts in the relaxing, cool courtyard. Our only gripe was that we had a room without the views of the courtyard, which was cheaper, but actually quite noisy in terms of people coming back to the hotel late at night or just generally because of the hotel's central position. But, we would definitely recommend the hotel and we hope to return ourselves sometime. 9/10
