We
spent a relaxing few days at Can Roses. We had a room with a private
garden terrace which was lovely and romantic. We enjoyed the laid
back atmosphere that pervades the place. It has a rustic, imperfect
feel to it, but somehow it all works.

We had a great stay at Can Roses.
Particularly liked having such a large garden and lots of outdoor
space so close to the town centre. Loved the laid back atmosphere and
it was great just to stroll out every evening to the wonderful little
town square.

Easy to get to on train
from Palma so no need to hire car. Only 5 min or so walk to hotel from
station. Wooden doors off street hide a beautiful building tastefully
decorated. Friendly welcome especially from male manager. Gorgeous
gardens and especially liked small pool, private and relaxing. Would
agree re other comments about breakfast, eggs chargeable is not really
acceptable at this price of hotel.

Hiding behind a small
wooden door from a narrow street lies a gem of a hotel with a
fascinating inner courtyard leading through to a wonderful and exotic
garden complete with two well kept swimming pools and spectacular
views of the surrounding mountains. Our welcome was warm and friendly
and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the discrete yet
friendly staff. Our room, number 6, was spacious, well-appointed and
interesting with its split level layout. The whole hotel had been
designed with comfort and ambience in mind. Breakfast at a communal
table was plentiful and varied and gave us a chance to meet other
guests and chat. Our experience at this hotel and in Sollers itself
was delightful and I would recommend it to anyone contemplating either
a restful break or a chance to explore the tracks and byways that cris-cross
this lovely part of Majorca. 8/10

Wonderful place to
relax. Walk in to a beautiful courtyard, a surprise from the narrow
road outside, part of the charm of Soller) which then opens on to
amazing gardens beyond. Lots of different garden areas, with pools
within (the Bali house was my favourite), great to just sit, read and
chill. Very tranquil and peaceful. Our room was excellent with a
lovely 'balcony' with a day bed overlooking rooftops and mountains. Is
excellent location, close enough for gentle stroll into Soller town
where there are excellent restaurants, both formal and informal, sadly
not enough time to eat in all of them. Thanks for the recommendation.
We'll be back

We stayed at Ca'n Roses
for just 3 days but it was a delightfully quirky and homely place and
felt very welcoming. The house is a surprise: from what looks like a
very small and plain facade, once through the big wooden front doors
you are welcomed by a large open courtyard filled with big leafy
potted plants, pieces of arts and crafts, tables and sofas and two
friendly dogs, surrounded on all sides by other doors and windows
which formed the rest of the property. And going through this
courtyard to the much larger-than-expected garden you find a verdant
oasis of trees, lawn, shrubs, small stone pathways and the pool. Loads
of shade and plenty of places to lounge around and relax. And
perfectly situated in the centre of Soller where there are loads of
eateries, small boutiques and shops. Michael and Brigitte welcomed us
warmly, recommending restaurants and gave other useful information.
Our room was really lovely - spacious, with a comfy bed, TV, minibar.

10/10 What a fantastic
hotel in a wonderful location. We really enjoyed our stay in Soller
and this hotel was just a great find. The room we had was excellent
and the atmosphere created by Bridgit, the owner, along with her
"team" was very welcoming and relaxing. Thoroughly recommended!

The hotel was exactly
like the web site so no horrible surprises. Brigitte is a great
hostess, really helpful on local walks which was great for us. We
didn't hire a car as buses and trains near by and lovely walks in the
area, Definitely go back.

Beautiful and peaceful hotel with the
most delightful courtyard, gardens, views and swimming pool, had the
weather been warmer we would have spent many hours there. The
rooms were lovely with the most surprisingly stunning views on both
sides, the only downside was the bathroom, more specifically the
shower which we found temperamental and the room a little chilly ( it
was April ). The owners ( and their animals ) were all very
hospitable and friendly, with good recommendations regarding the local
area, restaurants etc Oh...and the Breakfasts were wonderful, Thank
you This hotel is also perfectly positioned to enjoy the local area
whatever the weather without the need for a car due to the tram to the
port and train to Palma, Soller itself is also a great place to while
away a day. An all round gold star

We've visited Ca'an
Roses twice (July 06, Aug 07) - Once as a couple and the second time
with my parents! We absolutely love it - It feels more like a second
home than a hotel! You literally relax the minute you arrive. Brigitte
and Anna are welcoming and helpful, but at the same time, leave you to
enjoy your break in peace. Your days are spend eating or lazing by the
pool. What could be more perfect? Hoping to visit again this summer -
why try somewhere new,
when what you've found is 10 out of 10 already!

The hotel was magic - a
real haven and obviously a labour of love for
Brigitte, the owner. The rooms were lovely, and totally in keeping
with the period of the house - each one has its own individual style
and beautifully comfortable. The grounds, including magical courtyard
and lovely gardens and pool were beautiful with wonderful orange and
lemon trees littered along the pathways. The owners and staff could
not have been more helpful, finding restaurants and spots for us to
visit every day. A stunning old house, beautifully cared for and
totally comfortable. One thing to note is that it is not really baby
friendly, with lots of steps and levels in each of the rooms.

Can Roses was a
delightful rustic
small hotel that was an oasis of calm to relax in. We arrived via the
old
train from Palma, although this takes longer than a taxi (just over an
hour), I would recommend it for the experience and an interesting way
to
start the holiday - the views of the mountains and lemon/lime trees
were
spectacular en route. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were surprised by
the
size of the room (big!) and the hotel was perfectly placed to enjoy
Soller
town, which was a lovely place to be. Although it must be said the
restaurants are not the best here, we had done our research and were
aware of this. Café Soller however did very good Pasta and the local
Pizzeria did a great pizza. I cannot really fault our 3 day stay - a
relaxing and peaceful hotel with a good pool and lovely garden, and a
few good bars/cafes in Soller to people watch from!

Little to add to
previous reviews except to confirm that Ca'n Roses remains
as magical and relaxing as everyone else says it is. The tone is set
by the
buffet breakfast from 9-11am, shared at tables set out under parasols
in the
garden. We had one of the more expensive rooms but it was definitely
worth it to have the balcony overlooking the lush gardens and the
rugged mountains beyond. This was our silver wedding getaway and we
couldn't have chosen a better spot. When you can tear yourself away,
Soller square, the tram to the Port and the train to Palma are all
within 5 minutes at a very leisurely
stroll. 10/10

This is a very beautiful
small hotel. We were very warmly welcomed and
looked after by by Brigitte and her daughter Anna. Nothing was too
much
trouble for them and the experience was more like being house guests
than
hotel guests. The weather was chilly, for example, and we were greeted
with
a lovely fire in the breakfast room each morning. The hotel is right
in the
centre of Soller where there are plenty of places to eat and one can
experience everything from real local home cooking (don't miss the
gato de almendras (almond cake) in the Cafe de Deportivos in the
square) to fine dining at European level. Personally we felt that a
car would have been an embarrassment. Soller is not built for cars,
the local public transport is excellent, even in the winter, and the
experience of a trip to Palma on the nineteenth century Ferrocarril de
Soller is not to be missed. This was the
perfect centre for a walking holiday where we could feel pampered at
the end of a day in the wonderful mountains.

What a find! When
Brigitte opened the door to greet us and we stepped into the
courtyard, wow! This is a piece of paradise tucked away within the
narrow bustling streets of Soller. When we checked in Brigitte
notified us there had been a problem with the booking system and she
would have to upgrade us to the superior double room with the olympic
size bath at no extra cost. Wow!wow!wow! now that's what i call an
upgrade. The staff were friendly, the pool was magnificent, the
gardens were exquisite, the accommodation was first class and the
honesty drinks bar very intoxicating (hic hic). Will definitely return
some day but I will have to book early as the word starts to spread
about this luxury hotel

The hotel was great!
Lovely gardens and a nice deep pool. We felt more like we were staying
in someone's home rather than a hotel. No formal reception and an
honesty bar, but if you needed help in phoning taxis, booking
restaurants/trips etc the staff couldn't have been more helpful. As
soon as you leave the hotel, you are in the middle of the real Spain,
very few of the locals speak english and the spanish atmosphere in the
local vilage square was lovely. we got by with a nod and a smile and
all the locals were very helpful and friendly. A truly unique holiday,
one of the best we have had, I would definitely recommend c'an roses
to a friend and hope to return again. score.10/10

A tranquil haven within
the town centre of Soller. We ended up in the most expensive of the
eight rooms (250 euros per night) -as we booked last minute, and
people staying in the other rooms seemed to be very satisfied (some
were returning guests). Beautiful garden in the back plus a discreet
swimming pool. Gazing at the mountains while lying on your lounge
chairs (leafing through the pages of your favourite novel) - pure
bliss! Brigitte (that's how she pronounced it!) was very helpful in
booking / advising our various itineraries (trying at the same time to
control her beautiful but boisterous puppy Labrador). Felt more like
staying in a home rather then a hotel (hence a few but minor
inconveniences - like the hot water in the shower slowing down /
stopping altogether when someone else is having a shower elsewhere).
Will not hesitate to stay there again. Marks: 8/10

After getting lost in
charming Soller whilst trying to find it, we entered into Ca'n Roses
through two imposing ancient wood doors to find the most beautiful and
charming of courtyards I've ever seen. The house itself is distinctly
romantic and charming, and the owner Brigitte and her two lovely
daughters make you feel so welcome as soon as you enter. You can see
Brigitte's artistic sensibility in every lovely detail of the hotel.
The tasteful pool and gardens are a wonderful place to unwind and
spend a relaxing day in the sun. And Pecka, the loving Golden
Retriever, keeps a sleepy eye over everything. All in all, one of our
most pleasant and welcoming hotel experiences ever. I highly recommend
Ca'n Roses to the sophisticated traveller who appreciates a small,
beautiful environment. Thank you Brigitte, Anna and Marie!

We thought the Can Roses
was superb. The house has been beautifully restored, is well managed
and peaceful. We loved it there and would definitely return and
recommend it to others, in fact we thought we'd go again with a group
of friends and maybe take over the whole place if we could. The
atmosphere was wonderful, especially if you just wanted a chill out
week, and we thought the honesty bar was a great idea, helped to keep
it a very relaxed place as you were not being pestered by
staff/waiters etc as can often happen in larger hotels. Lying on
very comfortable steamer chairs by the pool surrounded by
gorgeous gardens, views of the mountains, hearing the church bells and
the tram every so often ... we relaxed within hours of arriving. We
were amazed at how quiet it was despite being in the heart of
Soller. Soller we loved too, perfect for a week. Great restaurants in
walking distance, the little tram to the Port was delightful. We also
ventured into Palma for a day on the train which was lovely, like
stepping back in time on the train! All in all we were very impressed
with Mallorca, Soller and the Can Roses and we will definitely go back
soon. Would give Can Roses 10/10.

If you want hot and cold
