Maricel (Near Palma)

We had a long weekend at the Maricel and it felt like a real treat. You really get what you pay for – it may be expensive but it’s worth it. Enjoyed good food at the hotel, and also went to Palma and Puerto Portals and tried out nice restaurants there.

Fantastic hotel we really enjoyed our stay. It was very relaxing with they provided a great service. Although the first 5 star hotel we've ever stayed in that doesn't have an iron and ironing board, the hotel kindly offered a dry cleaning service at €5 per item. We suggest you take your own dry cleaning as it's 100 yards from the hotel and half the price. The main downfall is the breakfast situation, at €28 plus tax for a breakfast buffet is a rip off. We did know this before we went and checked the breakfast out and didn't think it was worth having. For such a lovely bar and restaurant the was never anyone in there which was a shame. Overall though we would recommend the Maricel if you don't mind paying over the odds and give our stay 8/10.

We stayed in the main old building in a sea view room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Such views and proximity to the sea were perfect. The hotel never felt crowded (despite a new building) with plenty of space to sunbathe by the sea.

Really enjoyed our stay. great location, wonderful service and charming staff. food excellent, especially breakfast. rooms minimalist and rather too over-designed for total comfort and convenience, bathroom of our deluxe terrace room was an unusual open plan arrangement, not ideal, but overall impression v. good. 8/10

Very pleasant boutique styled hotel, good location & friendly staff
without being overbearing.
Only slight bug bear was that the catch on the glass doors that separates
the toilet & shower from the rest of the bathroom was broken and looked
like it had been for some time. Additionally wireless internet access would also be a recommended improvement to the facilities. Rating 9/10

The Maricel in Palma was fantastic.  So much so that during our 4 day stay we only ventured into the City once!  The view was beautiful, the hotel stylish but relaxed and very comfortable but we thought the best aspects were the food and the staff.  The food was stunning - we ate from their "taster" menu for both breakfast and dinner - a real experience.  The staff were helpful, attentive, and friendly without being over familiar.  Also the quality of therapist in the Sap was very high.

The Maricel Hotel is a stunning but discreet hideaway. It enjoys a fabulous frontline beach position and a multitude of terraced areas to enjoy the idyllic setting. The Maricel is classy but understated and retains an aura of authenticity that is rare to find in an otherwise built up and touristy area. Recently refurbished there is a contemporary element throughout which appeals to what appeared to be an international clientele. The restaurant offers an interesting mix of gastronomic and ¨poolside¨ snacks, comprehensive wine list and attentive service from a friendly young team. We were most impressed and can only assume that the Maricel will grow in stature over time. We certainly wish them success and hope to return some time in the future!
