Fantastic hotel - great
setting (right by the sea and around old harbour area of Palma), great
location (5mins taxi into centre of Palma). Has retained 50's style
elements of original hotel. True luxury. Port House rooms with own
jacuzzi on roof - true luxury!

This was our first time
staying at the Portixol and we would highly recommend the hotel.
Comfortable and stylish rooms combined with excellent food and only a
short taxi ride from the airport made for a great mini-break. A 20
minute walk takes you right into the centre of Palma where the shops
are great - shoe heaven! Well worth a return visit!

One of my favourite
hotels. A hotel in Palma with pool is rare , good location , great
food , relaxed and unpretentious but hip enough to feel boutique.
Rooms are minimalist style which is not my taste but ocean and port
view rooms are a good size. 9/10

We stayed in the Port
House and it was fabulous. The staff are incredibly helpful, the hotel
is in a nice quiet location, lovely pool, great restaurant. Easy to
get into Palma town by bike or taxi. 10/10

This was undoubtedly the
best hotel we have ever stayed in. I would not change one thing about
the hotel and how it is run. The location is pretty much perfect - 10
minutes from the airport and a 5 minute taxi ride into the centre of
Palma. All of the staff were pleasant, helpful, and courteous -
probably the best we have ever encountered in any hotel. Our room was
exactly as it was described to us - with an excellent sound system and
a large terrace/balcony which enjoyed direct sunlight all day. We were
booked on a bed and breakfast basis and when we do this we normally
eat outside the hotel in the evening. During our stay we ate in the
hotel every night - twice in the excellent fish restaurant and the
other evenings from the more than acceptable bar menu. All in all we
had a great time - a very relaxing break, and we will definitely
return to this hotel in the future.

Beautiful hotel - a
genuine treat but not over the top. Felt more expensive than planned
(down to strength of euro). Great setting, turn right to Palma, turn
left to bays and beaches. Stunning views and great staff - so helpful
but not too chummy!

The hotel was excellent

Had a marvellous time at
this hotel would recommend it to anybody. We stayed in room 23
brilliant with fab views over the pool, sea and town we could even see
the cathedral from our balcony.

Our stay at the Portixol
was absolutely fantastic! We arrived in the morning and our room
wasn't ready so we were shown to the poolside after a short wait we
were told we had an upgrade to the penthouse!!! Needless to say we
didn't leave the hotel much after that. We do actually know the hotel
having eaten there before and as ever the staff manage to strike that
balance of being
helpful but not too overbearing. They help to create a totally relaxed
atmosphere. My partner who is actually living in Palma at the moment
said it
had been a perfect birthday and he was reluctant to leave on Wednesday
morning for work and even came back on Wednesday lunchtime for a last
sit on
our roof top balcony.

Excellent hotel and our
fourth time here. Still very good. Accomodation
modern and spotless- great team in all areas - restaurant, front desk,
housekeeping and bar - lots of the same people - a good sign.
Breakfasts
excellent, and no complaints about lunches or dinner either. Well done
to
whoever finds the talent people for the team and to those leaders who
run
the place. Excellence like this always comes from the top! Thank you
for a
great stay. We shall return yet again!

Booked the hotel for
myself and 6 friends for a "girls weekend" and we had the best time
there. Beautiful hotel, fabulous pool, great food - could not fault
the facilities or the staff who were all incredibly friendly and
helpful, even when trying to cope with so many different variations on
the theme of bacon and eggs and getting it wrong 3 times - our waiter
was still smiling at the end of it all! 10 out of 10 and I would love
to go back

We have stayed at Hotel
Portixol four times, and are returning again this year. It is perfect,
stylish, not pretentious, child friendly, not over run with children,
and the staff are fantastic. Well priced for such high quality! Always
the best part of our holiday 10/10

We had an excellent stay
at the Portixol, it was definitely worth spending the extra money for
a corner terrace, the views were amazing. The staff were extremely
kind and helpful. The bedroom was extremely clean and well appointed
with a CD/DVD player, lovely toiletries and binoculars. The beds were
very comfortable and the surroundings peaceful so it was great that
the breakfast buffet was open to 11:30 as it was very difficult to get
up! The breakfast buffet had a great selection of fruit every date. We
also ate a la carte twice during our 7 nights stay in the hotel and
felt that the food was very good quality and a good price too. The
hotel is in a very peaceful/restful setting yet close enough to walk
into Palma comfortably. We would also recommend the Rocomar and
Mirimar restaurants which are very close to the hotel and we also had
an excellent meal at the Aramis in the centre of Palma. All in all
this made for a very relaxing week and we would definitely consider
coming here again for a long weekend especially with it being only 10
minutes from the airport. I give it 9.5/10 - i'm probably being picky
for dropping half a mark but every time we used the shower the
bathroom got extremely wet (there was no shower curtain)

This is a lovely hotel,
the rooms staff and facilities cannot be faulted. We particularly
enjoyed the socialable breakfast hours (8 to 11.30) and the
availability of bicycles to borrow and cycle along the seafront. We
would probably have preferred to stay in a hotel more central to Palma
as we were more interested in seeing the sites of Palma than lying by
the pool or on a beach. 9 out of 10 but only because the location was
not ideal for us.

Modern, stylish and
spacious room. Very relaxing. Nice view of the harbour (room 44). The
food in the smart restaurant was very good, with good selection of
wine. Pity we stayed only for one day. Apparently their sister hotel
in Soller (Esplendido) is supposed to be nice as well. Marks: 9/10
(deducted 1 mark after seeing the final bill - expensive - but well
worth the money).

The hotel is excellent.
They have got the decor and atmosphere just right - not too trendy,
very relaxed, and everything you could ask for. One of the nicest
hotels I've ever stayed in. We had a large seaview room with terrace
which was well worth the additional cost. The area around the hotel is
lovely, and has a great cycle path along the sea front in both
directions. Only one plea to the hotel: get more bicycles; it's an
excellent touch and we're keen amateur cyclists so they really made
our stay enjoyable. Out of 10: 9.5 (only dropped for not enough
bicycles)

The Portixol is easily
one of the best and most beautiful hotels I have encountered. It is
incredibly well-designed -- one feels that a lot of thought was given
to layout and traffic flow within the building. One nice feature is
the abundance of space for relaxing outside one's room (bar, deck,
very comfy wicker couches under a veranda near the pool, living room
with large collection of old LPS). The pool is wonderful for both
adults and children. Our room (on the fourth floor with sea view) was
extremely nice -- elegant without being pretentious and practically
and comfortably laid out and fitted. The CD, DVD and video lending
service was one we availed of and appreciated. The overall atmosphere
is one of relaxed enjoyment, and the staff, especially those at the
front desk, contribute greatly to maintaining this mood. Dining is a
very pleasant experience, particularly outside on the deck by the
pool. The surroundings are lovely -- the Mediterranean sky, the clean
lines and colours of the hotel itself, the blue of the water. The food
is very good, but perhaps not quite as good as the prices would
suggest. However, I would recommend dining in the hotel at least once
during one's stay. During the day one can order from the more formal
menu or from the bar menu -- a salad by the pool made a very pleasant
lunch one lazy afternoon. There are a number of nice-looking
restaurants in just a few steps away from the hotel, and a short taxi
ride takes you right to the heart of Palma. I would give the Portixol
9.5 out of ten (I'm probably being a bit harsh in withholding that
last .5!)

Just had to drop you a
line to say that our weekend was really fantastic - the Portixol
was superb - couldn't fault it. With 11 of us going I thought it might
be an organisational nightmare when we got there, but the hotel made
everything so easy. Many thanks for all your help and we will be
booking again!

The Portixol is a high
class boutique hotel oozing with style. It's design is modern and the
rooms are filled with everything you could possibly need and more...
cd player, dvd player, mini bar, high-power shower, the best
complimentary shower gels and shampoos I've ever had given to me at
any hotel... It really was a treat to stay here. The hotel boasts many
facilities such as a small yet well equipped gym, relaxing lounge with
turn table and records (!), and free internet connection in the foyer.
Camilla's massage was tremendous and the staff were all without
exception helpful and friendly. Annika and Oscar were particularly
good. Breakfast was plentiful and well prepared. The restaurant and
bar were also of a high standard. All in all, it is a great hotel and
I'd have no hesitation in recommending it. 9/10

Hotel Portixol is a
breath of fresh air - a place where you truly can kick back and unwind
- even for a short break. The attention to detail is on a par with a
retreat, the location perfect (5 minutes by bus from the city centre,
yet far, far away from the hustle and bustle) and the view just
wonderful. The food is at times adventurous and demanding - but a real
treat at any time of day, and the service throughout the hotel is
faultless. The 'living room' is a wonderful concept, and we'd
definitely suggest borrowing the bikes and heading around the bay for
half a day. We'd strongly recommend this hotel - it's a truly great
find. 9/10

We really enjoyed our
stay here - the hip hotel aspect was fun and exciting, and despite the
trendy aspect of the hotel it was surprisingly welcoming to kids - as
well as catering for them too. We must confess to also having really
enjoyed the restaurant having found the food on mallorca a bit of a
disappointment. This was a nice contrast to cas comte for the end of
our stay in palma. I imagine it would be perfect for a fun/romantic
weekend away - perhaps to do the christmas shopping.

10/10 Hotel superb,
location excellent, simple yet very stylish, lends itself to
relaxation. Accommodation v.comfortable. Staff welcoming, friendly and
v. efficient in unobtrusive way - excellent service. Restaurant
excellent (hard if you are a vegetarian although am sure they would
cater for that). Within comfortable walking distance of city centre. A
wonderful place to unwind which we most certainly did. We will
definitely return.

had everything we needed - good food, good location, good customer
service and a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. We could walk into the
city or easily catch a bus, or use one of the hotel's bikes!

Just the place to chill
out and relax. We were very impressed. Room very comfortable with lots
of nice touches like candles and bathrobes, and a good mix of
nationalities. Drinks reasonable and staff young, attentive and
friendly. Breakfast really good with a wide choice of food, and we
were never rushed. You have no choice but to relax here and we would
recommend the Portixol. Only drag is the walk into Palma is further
than it looks but buses 17 and 15 across from hotel run every 5 mins
or so. Some excellent bars and restaurants in Portixol itself so well
worth spending an evening there.

lovely, civilised hotel in a relaxed and not too busy part of Palma -
some people might find it a bit out of town but I prefer that. Hotel
staff were extremely helpful and made the stay very comfortable. Real
plusses for me as a single traveller were CDs and video/dvd hire -
some nights you just want to be in your room and chill - and little
extras like robes and nice shower gel! What would I improve. An
in-room hot drinks facility would be nice, poolside drinks ordering
(this was a bit sporadic) and bigger (plastic) mineral water bottles
(you drink a lot of water in hot places!). No real complaints though,
8 out of 10!

An
excellent hotel. In fact it was one of best we have ever stayed in.
The service and attention to detail was impeccable. Nothing was too
big or small to ask (in whatever language you chose to speak!)
Breakfasts were amazing, ample and anything empty was quickly
replenished. The room was excellent and the bed very comfortable.
However, we found that our room (no.11) was oddly shaped and the area
around the wardrobe and the area around the sinks in the bathroom to
be cramped when two people were moving around. We did not eat in the
restaurant but there are some excellent choices within 5-10 mins walk.
The walk into Palma itself was fine on the first day but we found it
tiresome and reverted to taxis. The pay-off for the location was that
we there is a welcomed pool and you are right next to the sea. Marks
out of Ten: 9/10

A
superb, sleek swedish minimalist hotel with excellent service, great
views, good food and a very well designed swimming pool and terrace.
Being less than ten minutes from the airport it is all round the
perfect place to stay for a long weekend or longer. We loved it and
are already planning another weekend there.
