Our second visit to
Reads. A truly splendid hotel where personal service is taken very
seriously and where the Read family are a daily presence. And what a
pleasure they all are. Facilities are continually being up graded.
Food either in the Bistro or the Michelin starred restaurant is first
class.

We didn't stay here but
ate dinner and it was simply delicious. I would strongly recommend as
a treat if you can't afford to stay there (like us) but appreciate
seriously good food, lovely staff and beautiful surroundings, then
this is the place.

Great amenities. Great
service. Restaurant is the jewel in the crown. Mini-bar in the room
would be good. Breakfast should include a cooked option - room prices
are expensive and guests should not be charged extra for a hot
breakfast.

Hotel was all that was
promised. Incredible food from incredible chef! Hotel staff were
extremely efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The Hotel
advertises a 48-hour laundry and dry-cleaning service. Whether it was
because it was early in the season or perhaps no-one else was sending
laundry, but mine came back within approx 2 hours, and once within the
hour, which beats Al Qasr at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai! What more can
we say! If you want to travel around you must hire a car as the Hotel
is quite isolated and Taxis like to charge 21 Euros plus just to come
to the Hotel, before you actually go anywhere, as we found out to our
cost! The Read family and their assorted animal chums were charming
and always ready to chat - all in all a wonderful restful break. If
the weather had settled it would have been
perfect.

Read's is a wonderful
place to relax in a beautiful, peaceful and very hospitable country
house. The rooms, staff and cuisine are impeccable and nothing is too
much trouble. A truly fabulous experience for couples who want to get
away from it all for a few days. 10/10

Having travelled
extensively in Europe, America and the Far East, I can recommend this
hotel as one of the best. My wife and I stayed for seven days during
which time we enjoyed the very best of food, service and comfort.
Difficult to think of a comparative alternative!

Our stay at Reads was
exceptional and all arrangements were exactly as planned. The only
complaint we had was that the "Degustion menu" complete with the
recommended tasting wines did not include transport back to our room
at the end of the meal! We were legless.

We
thoroughly enjoyed our little break at Reads. Food was quite excellent
with great care with a dairy allergy of mine, and accommodation was up
to our expectations.
