Nestled in the peaceful countryside, Son Jorbo is a charming, small family run retreat blending the rustic charms of a traditional Mallorcan finca with the comforts of contemporary living. The friendly hosts, Annie and Martin, have spent three years converting Son Jorbo to create a calm and relaxed place with four private apartments. Each apartment has been designed with individual style and tasteful touches, and all enjoy a long list of fine details to make for a comfortable stay. With separate entrances and their own outdoor terrace, guests can savour the peace and privacy, or mingle with other like minded travellers by the pool and around the house. The shared areas have been carefully thought out to create a homely feel. Take a drink from the well stocked honesty bar and relax with a book or board game in the library. For sun worshippers, there's a pretty Moroccan terrace filled with colourful flowers, or an inviting pool complete with loungers and parasols.
Son Jorbo is a perfect place to relax and unwind. Leisurely continental breakfasts are served on the back terrace, and the well equipped apartments can cope with most culinary feasts whipped up from fresh local produce bought in the surrounding market towns. For alfresco diners, there's an outdoor barbeque area - a great spot to watch the sun set. Exploring around, the local traditional villages and towns are certainly worth a visit, and the south east coast boasts some of Mallorca's finest and most natural beaches (20 to 30 minutes drive).
4 Apartments All apartments have a sitting room, 1 or 2 bedrooms, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen, private terrace, air conditioning/central heating, satellite TV (with BBC and ITV channels!), CD player and hairdryer. To see a complete inventory please see below.
On reservation, directions will be sent to you. Located about a 30 minutes drive East from Palma close to the town of Porreres.
The south east has a great selection of beaches. The best beach on the island Es Trenc offers four kilometres of white sand and blue sea backed by dunes and a natural park. Platja d’es Dolc, next to Colonia de Sant Jordi, is the first of a string of attractive beaches such as Es Caragol that can be reached by foot. The most beautiful sandy coves on the island are also in this region – Cala Mondrago, Cala S’Amonia and Cala Llombards.
Set on a headland, the seaside resort of Colonia de Sant Jordi is flanked on both sides by attractive sandy beaches. The town’s a bit of a maze but the best place to head for is the harbour front with it's marina and seafront restaurants. Boat trips are also available from here to Cabrera Island.
The small sleepy towns of Llucmajor, Santanyi and Campos have become more cosmopolitan due to the insurgence of foreign buyers. Here amongst the narrow streets a mix of traditional cafes and shops can be found alongside interior design boutiques.
