Dalt Murada Hotel Review
Hidden down a quiet narrow street in Palma’s historical centre, this 16th century mansion is a short stroll from the impressive Cathedral, palm-lined seafront and modern city life. Dalt Murada's a recently converted traditional residence, and its enviable position and friendly atmosphere make it a popular stay for city breaks.
The house has been revamped by the Bestard de la Torre family and has a genuine ancestral feel. The spacious rooms have high wood beamed ceilings and are brimming with classic antiques, old paintings and chandeliers straight out of another era. The furniture is elegant in a classic Mallorcan style with large carved wooden beds and polished dressing tables.
At the back of the house is a charming courtyard with orange and lemon trees where breakfast is served for nearly half of the year. At the front, is a maze of narrow pedestrian streets, packed with history, and home to some of the oldest buildings in Palma. The compact city has everything a good city break should offer; culture, history, restaurants, nightlife, shopping etc. If all this gets a little tiring then the palm-lined seafront is about 10 minutes walk away.
