Son Escanelles Hotel Review

Son Escanelles is a romantic seven bedroom hotel set in a renovated manor house. Surrounded by a peaceful, spacious 11,000m2 garden filled with orange, lemon and fig trees, it also has the added convenience of being just a 5 minute walk from the village centre of historical Valldemossa.

Set in picturesque mountain surrounds, guests can soak up the scenery from the terraces and pool. The hotel has beautiful views down the valley and also towards to the charming village. The main terrace is a lovely place to take breakfast or to enjoy a glass of wine from the bar and wine cellar as the sun goes down.

The house has been refurbished to enhance the manor houses original features. Throughout, the owners have created a classic Mallorcan style, with wood beams and carved dark wood furniture contrasting with pale walls. The hotel has a warm, welcoming atmosphere with hospitable owners on hand to make sure guests are well taken care of.

The spacious and airy rooms and suites have an elegant yet rustic feel. All are individual with an inviting mix of antique furniture, comfortable furnishings, pale walls and modern bathrooms. Some have terraces and some of the nicest rooms have direct access into the garden.

Breakfast is a delicious spread with homemade jams, and fresh local fruit and produce. Dinner can be arranged by letting the owners know at breakfast. The pretty village of Vallemossa also has a selection of restaurants, cafes and bars, so there is plenty on offer within walking distance.

For those wanting to do more than just unwind and relax, there are walking trails directly from the house leading into the scenic mountain surrounds. The mountain area is magnet for hikers, climbers and cyclists and is also popular with those wanting to enjoy the stunning mountain vistas and history

Simply stunning surroundings. This Hotel is a charming place to escape to. Attention has been taken on every little detail here. The room was spacious and interestingly designed. We loved the feeling of being in your own home, but with all the nice touches of a hotel. The gardens are beautiful and really relaxing. A thoroughly enjoyable place to stay, I would recommend it to anyone.
