Son Penya Hotel Review

Tucked away in the rolling countryside, stylish Son Penya is a calm and contemporary country retreat, close to the aqua blue waters of the East coast, and a short drive to some of the island's best golf courses.

Owned by a friendly Mallorcan family, this once simple homestead has been redesigned by a famous local architect, and totally transformed into a luxurious peaceful haven.

Enjoying privileged views from its elevated position, the spacious estate has five separate buildings sharing a total of twelve unique bedrooms. Most of the rooms have their own outside entrance and all enjoy a private terrace area. The interiors are calm, soothing and comfortable. Neutral shades, tasteful touches and imaginative design have all been cleverly combined to compliment Son Penya's peace and tranquillity.

This is a great place to idle away the days. A stylish inviting pool sits at the bottom of the garden, surrounded by sleek wooden decking and comfortable loungers. Wander back to the house, and enjoy a bite to eat on the outdoor patio. The restaurant, with its endless country views and huge parasol, serves up a varied and tasty menu of Mediterranean and international dishes. Thankfully, Son Penya's original wine cellar was preserved, and guests can browse the well stocked room to choose a bottle to compliment their meal.

This hotel was gorgeous, we had a Junior Suite which was superbly furnished and very large in size. The bathroom with separate shower and Jacuzzi Bath was divine. The views were fabulous, very quiet, location was fantastic, easy access to beaches such as Cala Mesquida which has always been our favourite beach and dining by the marina at Porto Cristo. Well recommended and will go back again.
Very peaceful and stylish place. We stayed for a week in August so spent a lot of time lazing by the wonderful pool and just relaxing. It seems the owners are trying to create a laid back place where service is relaxed and discreet. If we needed anything they were always very charming and helpful, but don't expect to be waited on. We would return and combine our stay with another hotel in Soller or Palma next time.
