Can Verdera (Fornalutx) |
|
I enjoyed my trip to Mallorca and staying at the C'an Verdera. It was so peaceful sitting by the pool during the day or on the terrace in the evening with a glass of wine watching the rose glow of the sun on the mountains fade and seeing bats flit across the sky. Fornulutx was a very charming village and I was able to walk to and from Soller. I was more than happy on my own feeling completely safe. The only thing I would say is that if you are going anywhere further afield at night you need to prebook your taxi to come and take you back home! Nearly got stuck in Valldemosa but was helped out by some brilliant staff members at the Cappucino Bar there! And in fact all the locals that I met were very kind and friendly. |

The hotel was fantastic- beautiful setting and great service. The GM Anna was incredibly helpful and all her suggestions were spot on. Breakfast was great and the setting was a lovely terrace. Really enjoyed it so thanks for the recommendation. |

We were really happy with our choice of hotel which we stayed at for 2 weeks for our honeymoon, it was modern, nice and intimate feel to it being a smaller hotel with not many bedrooms so a lovely feeling to the hotel. Not touristy. Lovely spacious bedroom, light and airy, good aircon, very comfortable lounge area too with attractive decor and modern art and staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely pool and comfortable pool area to sunbath which was great with amazing views of the mountains particularly all around the pool area and also great views from the open air breakfast terrace which was a real treat. Breakfast was very well presented and very good food. Other meals at the hotel were quite expensive to buy separately and not really worth the money the odd time we decided to have lunch there during our stay but otherwise all in all we had a great experience and a we had a wonderful honeymoon thanks to "the other Mallorca" website helping us find this gem. 9/10 |

We had an idyllic time at Can Verdera and would definitely go back. We were looking for rest and peace and quiet in a beautiful setting in a boutique hotel, and this is exactly what we got. The penthouse suite was lovely, spacious, a great place to relax in. The hotel interior is nicely designed, clearly with style in mind, and staff were absolutely charming. I do have a couple of small moans. The first – and most important – is that food in the evenings was extremely limited and not particularly good in our opinion (whereas breakfast was excellent). There are restaurants very close by but on a couple of evenings we just felt like staying in. I also think there needs to be more shade / umbrellas on the terrace of the penthouse suite. Lastly, I would say that there could be a little more comfort in the living room of the suite in terms of the furnishings. But these are relatively minor issues. The atmosphere was delightful – something that made itself felt as soon as you walked through the door. We often remarked how amazing it was that you were in the middle of a vibrant village and yet secluded and tranquil and closely connected to nature. Would love to go back. |

Very pleasant stay at the hotel. All the staff most helpful and friendly. The village provided us with a variety of good restaurants and to cap it all the weather was lovely! |

We came here for a quiet, romantic break for our wedding anniversary. The setting- gorgeous, rural retreat, with lovely gardens, terraces, and a pool with a view. The room- lovely, great service, with nice products. Unique (?) art! The hotel- very nicely run, with friendly staff, good service and a good breakfast thrown in The spa- My husband had a massage for his anniversary present- he said it was the best he has ever had in his life- praise indeed. Overall, for the price 8/10. It would have been great to be able to eat there during our stay |

A very special place, located within an unspoilt, picturesque village. The staff are exceptional - friendly, helpful and considerate. The room (with terrace) we stayed in overlooked the hotel's well-kempt gardens and delightful pool, with a magnificent mountainous backdrop. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with a fantastic jacuzzi and shower. The buffet breakfast was pleasurable, presented within a very relaxed setting. The hotel is adorned with contemporary works of art that further set it apart. We used the hotel for bed and breakfast - at the time we stayed (Easter) there was no dining option - but with some excellent restaurants nearby - all within a minute or so walk through cobbled streets - this fully met our needs. 10/10. |

Beautiful small hotel. Pool in nestled amongst orange and lemon trees. Spectacular views of mountains. Really pretty stylish rooms. Cool marble bathrooms with all amenities. Apart from a really good breakfast the food is not great. The staff are adorable. Is a place to totally relax in an extremely pretty village. Would be delighted to return even alone as the atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. |

Well this was a little slice of paradise on earth and we will definitely return in the future - it had everything, beautiful pool, friendly staff, lovely rooms, good air-conditioning, delicious food, close proximity to a couple of restaurants (one chi chi, one down to earth) and a few bars (one for beer, one for wicked Mojitos) - what more can one ask for. Oh yes - the views and scenery are perfect too, and it's only a short drive from all sorts of pretty tourist spots and beaches. |
