Son Penya (San Llorenc) |

Very peaceful and stylish place. We stayed for a week in August so spent a lot of time lazing by the wonderful pool and just relaxing. It seems the owners are trying to create a laid back place where service is relaxed and discreet. If we needed anything they were always very charming and helpful, but don't except to be waited on. We would return and combine our stay with another hotel in Soller or Palma next time. |

Beautiful setting, and the room was stunning. The hotel is remote, no restaurants or bars within walking distance, so it would have been nice to have a bit more atmosphere. It was very, very quiet, a real retreat, although it sometimes felt like a B & B more then a hotel. They provide drinks throughout the day if required, but as there is no bar, you need to go to reception to request this. Breakfast was continental - cakes, cheese etc, small buffet. Overall, beautiful for a quiet retreat, not for atmosphere. |

We didn't want to be too praiseworthy of the Son Penya, as we feel we want to carefully guard it as an undiscovered secret, as it is a place we definitely intend to return there in the future and are concerned that once it has established a reputation, booking a place may become pretty difficult! There is nothing bad to say about the Son Penya. It benefits at this stage from its newness, but every detail seems to have been thought of. The design is just superb, from the individual rooms, through to the public areas, pool and restaurant. Love the minimalism and geometry and attention to detail. The surroundings are very tranquil and relaxing and it is so accessible to many other places. The restaurant was superb for eating in of an evening, as were the breakfasts. The place might benefit from having wi-fi internet access. The least satisfying aspect of the whole holiday was curiously the design of the knives in the restaurant. They just wouldn't sit properly on the table or plate edge. Mark 9.5/10. A superb place/experience. We have every intention of coming back, as it's one of the nicest places we've ever stayed |

Excellent hotel. Beautiful contemporary design in the middle of the countryside. The only noise around is the charming bells of the neighbouring sheep, or joy of a child spotting a wild rabbit or turtle! Wonderful staff, very good restaurant, although we weren't too impressed with the fish dishes; meat dishes were excellent. We will definitely go back!. |
