This former military fortress perched on a cliff in a secluded area of Palma Bay offers up unadulterated luxury in unique surrounds. Set in 88 acres of land with 2kms of coastline, the buildings have been careful restored to preserve their heritage and to create a stunning and individual place to stay. The dramatic surrounds of drawbridge, bunkers and trenches are softened by the hotels stylish and sophisticated interiors and bedrooms.

Cap Rocat is situated on a protected area of coastline so sea views and access abound. There is a private beach with comfortable loungers, and a rocky outcrop with steps for safe access into the enticing sea. The idyllic salt water infinity pool, surrounded by wooden decking, white leather sunbeds and umbrellas is the perfect place to relax with endless sea views.

Cap Rocat has two restaurants. The Fortress restaurant is situated in one of the main pavilions and serves Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Whilst in summer, the Sea Club, set at sea level with glorious sea views, offers alfresco dining from the firewood oven and grill. For special private moments, the hotel sets up private dining tables and tents with views of the Bay. Service is paramount at Cap Rocat, with small details taken care of to create a unique experience. For those wanting room service, a generous breakfast can be taken on the suites private terrace, arriving via picnic hamper and set up at your table.

To give guests an array of choice, Cap Rocat has several room types to choose from. The popular double rooms are beautifully furnished and have a comfortable terrace to enjoy the Mallorcan sun. The Cap Rocat suites are located in former shooting pads, and are elegantly decorated with spacious bathrooms and views of the Bay of Palma. Each Cap Rocat Suite has three terraces on different levels, including a patio complete with daybed and stunning sea views. Perfect for those wanting complete privacy and spectacular sea views are the spacious Sentinel Suites with private infinity plunge pool and cliff top terrace.  Hidden in the rock, these tasteful suites are carved out of former surveillance points that controlled the entrance to Palma Bay. El Cabo Suite is a pale toned sanctuary with vaulted ceilings. With a bedroom and living area, this suite also has an extensive bathroom which is the perfect place for pampering.  For seclusion and relaxation El Cabo suite has three different terraces complete with a private pool and there is also a gazebo with magnificent sea views. The stylishly restored Del Mar house sits on the edge of the sea and offers charm and privacy. Surrounded by a Mediterranean garden and with a plunge pool overlooking Palma bay this is an ideal spot for sunbathing, dining or just relaxing.

With such a high level of room options and service, Cap Rocat is a unique luxury experience that is perfect for those looking for peace and indulgence right by the sea.

Thanks for your help. We asked you to suggest somewhere special and we definitely got that with the seaviews, luxury, unique architecture and discreet impeccable service. — D & EF

We’ve had a wonderful few days being indulged at Cap Rocat and will be returning. Thank you. — DR

We only had a short stay here but we thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s expensive but it is also worth it as it is one of a kind. A beautifully converted fortress, luxurious room and attentive staff. The Sea Restaurant is worth a visit, really good food and rather well priced for the location. — KH

Thank you (Kate, I think) for talking through the choices we had short listed. Cap Rocat is indeed a stunning hotel. We loved the seafront restaurant with unfussy but delicious food. Foraleza was a bit more formal and foodie. — RP

A truly unique place and one of the best places we have stayed in. A definite for couples wanting some quiet privacy. Watching sunsets from the day bed on the top terrace and secluded dips from the private beach are some of our favourite memories. — PM

Thanks for your advice. Yes, a very special hotel and definitely worth a visit. We were pleased that we had to book a suite (we spent a lot of time on the day bed looking out to sea!) in the end (all double rooms taken) as it was something else and definitely made our stay very special. — IH

Thanks for your help. This hotel & its views were breathtakingly beautiful with excellent service. — SR

We spent a lovely three nights at Cap Rocat. By day we made full use of the dreamy surrounds and enjoyed our private double daybed with sea view and the beautiful pool area. My husband also had a daily swim in the sea which he said was very refreshing. We ate at the Sea Club restaurant one day, which was good, but got a taxi into Palma the other nights to enjoy the city and evening atmosphere. For a special occasion I’d definitely return. — DF
