This once Olive Farm from the 18th century was renovated in 2010 into a calm luxury retreat that truly embodies an 'Other Mallorca' experience. Sitting in the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains on the edge of the charming village of Selva, Hort de Cas Misser has a serene atmosphere, far reaching views and an emphasis on providing guests with a unique and memorable experience.
Caty, the friendly host, provides a warm welcome with advice and help. Be sure to ask her for a tour, and taste (!), of the estate's extensive fruit farm. Lemons, oranges, figs, peaches, walnuts, tomatoes, olives, almonds and a herb garden is just a small introduction to the delights grown. Fed by a mountain spring, the produce is delicious and used daily at breakfast and during the special dinner arranged once a week.
All the rooms except two are in the main house which was home to the huge olive press, now used as ornamental statues around the garden. The bedrooms are comfortably and tastefully furnished, two have their own terrace and most look across the gardens to the pool and beyond.
The surrounding area is great for walks, cycling or trips in the mountains. The famous Lluc Monastory is close by, and from their you can venture further in the mountains to see some of Mallorca's natural wonders such as Cala Tuent and Torrent de Parise. Good beaches are about 20 minutes drive.

We had a really wonderful time in Mallorca and as usual all the accommodation was very special and luxurious. We felt very spoilt at all of the hotels. We loved Hort de Cas Misser. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and we were given delicious lemonade and snacks upon arrival and sat in the shade in the beautiful garden by the very peaceful swimming pool. Our room was most comfortable with a very large bathroom and a lovely view over the garden. Cristina gave us a history of the house, which still has the original olive press, and her family, which was fascinating. The communal rooms are beautiful with interesting paintings and décor. The breakfast was amazing and served so beautifully on butlers trays brought to each table with all the produce being grown on the estate. Selva has a lovely church and village square with a bar serving really good food if you choose not to eat in the hotel. We always recommend The Other Mallorca to friends and thank you so much for helping us to put together this last minute break. As always Mallorca, off the beaten track, is a gem and the hotels you offer are exquisite. We will be back before long.

Highlights include breakfast on terrace, countryside views, pool, comfortable room with nice terrace. Selva’s a quiet place but does have decent restaurants, highly recommend Miceli.

Just returned from a most relaxing break at Hort de Cas Misser. It was good to talk to you to get a real feel for our options available and we definitely chose the right one for us. Cati is a lovely person backed by caring staff and the small hotel was everything we could wish for. Relaxing, nice good quality room (comfortable bed!), excellent pool area and the breakfast and homemade goodies were delicious. Thanks again - we'll be calling you in 2015.

We had a really lovely stay thank you. Cati and her team provide a special service in a lovely peaceful hotel. Breakfasts are a real surprise with lots of homemade local delicacies, mostly made from the homegrown produce in the garden. We also loved the location. We could drive to some nice quiet beaches within 25 minutes and also be in some of the most scenic mountain locations within 20 minutes (Lluc Monastery is must). Thanks for a great recommendation. 10/10 we would definitely stay here again.
