This once Olive Farm from the 18th century was renovated in 2010 into a calm luxury retreat that truly embodies an ‘Other Mallorca’ experience. Sitting in the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains on the edge of the charming village of Selva, Hort de Cas Misser has a serene atmosphere, far reaching views and an emphasis on providing guests with a unique and memorable experience.
Caty, the friendly host, provides a warm welcome with advice and help. Be sure to ask her for a tour, and taste (!), of the estate’s extensive fruit farm. Lemons, oranges, figs, peaches, walnuts, tomatoes, olives, almonds and a herb garden is just a small introduction to the delights grown. Fed by a mountain spring, the produce is delicious and used daily at breakfast and during the special dinner arranged once a week.
All the rooms except two are in the main house which was home to the huge olive press, now used as ornamental statues around the garden. The bedrooms are comfortably and tastefully furnished, two have their own terrace and most look across the gardens to the pool and beyond.
The surrounding area is great for walks, cycling or trips in the mountains. The famous Lluc Monastory is close by, and from their you can venture further in the mountains to see some of Mallorca’s natural wonders such as Cala Tuent and Torrent de Parise. Good beaches are about 20 minutes drive.
