Newly Recommended: Hotel Son Jaumell

Hotel Predi Son Jaumell ticks so many boxes – fabulous understated stylish décor, ex El Bulli chef in the kitchen and a pretty sandy cove close by. Yes please!! Recently opened, this hotel has been very well thought through, with the aim of creating a relaxed, luxurious and very tasteful place to stay.

This is foodie heaven, as Andreu Genestra, the chef has gone to great lengths to create impressive dishes from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Definitely make sure you try the four course set evening menu here (guests often then find they eat every meal here as they are so good!), and opt for the menu including the matching wines with each course. The chef and sommelier have been working together for over 10 years so they know what they are doing.

Breakfasts are obviously also excellent with an array of fresh local produce to choose from – fruits, yoghurts, pastries and eggs whichever way you fancy. We especially like the self-juicing orange press to ensure guests enjoy super fresh orange juice. And in case you’re in the mood for a little tipple, there’s also cava.

All the rooms are individual, and are spacious and airy. As throughout the whole hotel, the balance between the rustic charm of the old building and modern comfort and design expected from a luxury hotel have been nicely juggled. Even the bathrooms are beautiful and stylish, with the nice added touch of Aveda toiletries.

The large day beds by the pool are a good spot to hang out, but we rather like all the beaches that are close by. There’s a track down to the pretty Cala Agulla and the hotel has bikes to make the trip to the sea even easier.

A car is a must here so you can easily explore the area with its nearby pretty coves and beaches.  The ancient towns of Capdepera and Arta are also both worth a visit.

This is a great spot for those wanting a relaxed getaway at a beautiful hotel with fabulous food.
