Algaida where Finca Raims is located, is like stepping into the real Mallorca. It’s a traditional place going about its own business, but due to its popularity with affluent local residents (due to its easy proximity to Palma & the rest of the island) it also has a good selection of decent restaurants, cafes and independent shops so guests at Finca Raims don’t need to stray far for their everyday needs.

The apartments and suite at Finca Raims are situated close to the centre of Algaida, yet when you are in the grounds you feel miles away from everything.  The historical manor house has retained its original grand and elegant interiors. It is like being in the house of a wealthy local landowner from a bygone era – make sure you take a peek into the ornate chapel.

Another treat is the ancient wine cellar – one of the largest on the island and where you can also buy decent wine.

We also like the spacious mature garden with its pool and covered area where you can enjoy the well- stocked honesty bar & ice cream.

The apartments are located in the manor houses outbuildings, and though they lack the grand décor of the main house, they are all comfortably and tastefully furnished to make for a welcoming and relaxed place to stay.

The hosts Thomas & Jutta are an understated, gentle couple who quietly go about ensure that guests have an enjoyable stay. They leave you in peace, but if there are any requests they are very happy to help.  They enjoy all that the other Mallorca has to offer, especially the culinary delights available on the island and the stunning walking routes – look out for their special Gourmet Walking tours during the spring and autumn months.

What we like about this location, is you can stay put and enjoy the atmosphere of the traditional and laid back Mallorca or if you feel like exploring you can get around the island easily (and get to & from the airport quickly too).

If you stay here, make sure you don’t miss a trip up the Puig of Randa, which is definitely worth a look if you want to have a bird’s eye view right across the island. Be warned, the car journey to the top is not for the faint hearted with its single track hair pin bends! It does makes for an afternoon adventure though.
