In case you’re wondering what the fuss about the Blue Flag is all about then here are some facts:

The Blue Flag is a globally recognised symbol of quality and is one of the most well-known environmental symbols worldwide. Blue flags are awarded by the independent organisation, the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). The organisation evaluates beaches every year and monitors their facilities and cleanliness.  It is no mean feat to be awarded a blue flag as along with excellent quality of bathing water, there are over 32 criteria to comply with, including cleanliness, safety, information for beach users, environmental education and protection of the coastal environment.  For further details take a look at: http://www.blueflag.org/menu/criteria/beaches

So well done to Mallorca and we hope you get to enjoy the beautifully clean water!
