Looking for Virgin Beaches in Mallorca (Majorca)?

With over 300km of coastline, Mallorca has its fair share of virgin beaches. Soft white sands, turquoise crystal waters and backed by nature, virgin beaches are easy to enjoy in Mallorca when you know where to look. The best pick of these beaches are in the South and Southeast, so here goes with some of our favourites.

Mallorca Virgin Beaches: Es Trenc, Sa Rapita, Es Covetes

Virgin Beach Mallorca Es Trenc

Driving / Parking:  All three beaches are easily reached via Campos. Free parking can be found at Sa Rapita and more easily at Es Covetes. Es Trenc parking is 6 Euros.
Description:  These three beaches more or less run into each other and are about 6 or 7km in length. The strip of sand is quiet narrow (about 20m) and backed mainly by protected sand dunes. They are very beautiful and are popular and busy during peak times. Facilities are good with sunbeds and parasols for hire, lifeguards on duty, toilets, ramps for the disabled and restaurants.

Mallorca Virgin Beach: Cala S’Amarador

mallorca virgin beach Cala S’Amarador

Beach: Cala S’Amarador
Location: Close to Santanyi
Co-ordinates:  39.34983,3.185599
Driving / Parking:  Head to Santanyi. From here take Carrer Mondrago and follow signs for Cala S’Amarador
Description:  Beautiful large cove with soft white sand. It’s backed by cliffs and pine forests, and there’s a coastal path leading to the beach’s more famous sister (Cala Mondrago). For the stronger swimmers it’s a really pleasant 30 minute swim around the rocky outcrop. Here there are sunbeds and parasols to rent, and a small bar for refreshments. Toilets and showers are available. Backed by a nature reserve there are a number of walking trails in the area – highly recommended so that you can appreciate the true beauty of the place.

Mallorca Virgin Beaches: Es Dolc and Es Carbo

Es Dolc and Es Carbo Mallorca beaches

Co-ordinates:  39.316769,3.003374
Driving / Parking:  Drive to Colonia Sant Jordi (39.317765,3.000027) and follow the sign posts for the beach to the east of the town. It’s only about 600m walk from the parking.
Description:  Es Dolc has fine, white sand and the shallow water is crystal clear. It is possible to hire sun loungers and parasols at the beach. It’s a good beach for children and there’s a beach bar which also serves as a café. More cafes adn restaurants can be found around Es Port.

Beach: Es Carbo
Location: Close to Colonia Sant Jordi
Co-ordinates:  39.310793,3.012815
Driving / Parking:  Drive to Colonia Sant Jordi (39.317765,3.000027) and follow the sign posts for the beach to the east of the town. Walk past Es Dolc and keep going around the headland a further 15 minutes (about 2.2km in total).
Description:  Large (about 1.5km) beach with beautiful white sand backed by dunes. The water is shallow, pristine and calm (there is an island just several hundred metres out (Na Molina) that provides protection from the open sea). After a storm it does suffer from seaweed build up by the shore, but the beach is deep enough that there is always space to lie on the sand.

Mallorca Virgin Beaches: Calo des Moro & S’Almunia

caol des moro mallorca (majorca) beach

Beach: Calo des Moro & S’Almunia
Location: Close to Santanyi
Co-ordinates:  39.313806,3.121736
Description:  Calo des Moro is a beautiful narrow sandy cove with high cliffs dotted by pine trees within a conservation area. It’s a scrabble down the cliff to reach the beach so not recommended for anyone with walking difficulties. There are no facilities and the beach is about 5 minutes walk from the parking.

S’Almunia can be reached down some steep steps at the end of the road, or via a pathway through the conservation area from Calo des Moro. This is a very pretty inlet with boat houses, a rocky plateau and a small beach.

Mallorca Virgin Beach: Cala Varques

Beach: Cala Varques
Location: Between Porto Cristo and Portocolom
Co-ordinates:  39.483144,3.288084
Driving / Parking:  Take the road from Porto Colom to Porto Cristo. Once you have passed the turn off for Manacor, take the next right hand turn into a dirt track (about 150 meters).  Drive up for about five minutes and you’ll reach a dead end. Park where you can (the lane is quite narrow) and take the path through the woods down to the beach (about 10 to 15 minutes).
Description:  This is a great beach for those looking to find more remote beaches, but not so good for families – there is a 15 minute walk and no facilities. There are no services so you will need to go prepared. The beach is about 100 metres in width and the water is a deep turquoise colour and the sand is golden. Head south of the beach to enjoy interesting rock formations and you’ll also soon come across another (tiny) beach – popular with nudists.
