Cycling Sa Calobra in Mallorca

Just the words, Sa Calobra, brings a smile to every cyclist that has enjoyed the unique and varied cycle routes of Mallorca. With 26 hairpins, nearly 10km of constant climbing at over 7% gradient, it's the most famous climb in Majorca and certainly the most dramatic.

Every keen walkers 'must do' hike in Mallorca is the classic Archduke's Trail. Archduke Luis Salvador originated from Austria but spent much of his life in Mallorca in the late 19th Century, studying and documenting his love of wildlife and nature. Buying large swathes of mountainous land, the Archduke built paths that rose nearly 1000m high with spectacular views across the Tramuntana Mountains and the Mediterranean sea.


September in Mallorca: A time for festivals (updated for 2017)

September is a lovely time to visit Mallorca, with the August crowds having left, the island is a little more tranquil. It's a great month to enjoy the sunshine, beaches and towns of the island. There are also some unique and interesting festivals that are also worth a visit. 

Between 1- 10 September 2017 head to the Fiestas del Rei en Jaume at Santa Ponsa.
