Convent de la Missio Review

Stylish Convent de la Missio sits bang in the heart of Palma’s old town, and is a symbol of the city’s rising reputation as a hip city break.

Set amongst the maze of narrow streets, the hotel offers a minimalist oasis of white and neutral shades. The building is a converted monastery and has retained it’s calm, serene atmosphere whilst inheriting a new sleek modern interior. Inside is a labyrinth of taste, starting from the neutral brown leathered lobby all the way to the Zen influenced roof terrace! The high arched limestone ceilings from the old monastery can be seen throughout, and are most prominent in the spacious meeting and exhibition rooms.

The hotel has a stylish bar and distinct dining room, which spill out onto an outdoor patio, complete with giant palm trees and modern waterfall. The lounge is a perfect place to relax away from the buzz of the city. It’s a tasteful, comfortable room with oversized cream bean bags, giant boucle wool rugs and a large fireplace. For further relaxation, the basement’s former crypt has been converted into a whirlpool and sauna.

The hotel’s restaurant Marc Fosh is a ‘must try’ (whether you’re a resident or not). Named after it’s acclaimed chef, the restaurant has recently been awarded a Michelin Star and dazzles it’s diners with original and creative Mediterranean dishes.

Special hotel with friendly staff, immaculate interiors and room, nice outdoor pool area and spa area. Divine breakfast. — CH Oct 2018

We would say that this hotel is well worth a visit. A stylish yet comfortable and welcoming hotel in a good position near to the Place Major in old Palma. Added to this is the food, from breakfast through to dinner all meals were excellent. — DS Sept 2018

Perfect weekend away. An excellent restaurant and cocktails. — BR, October 2017

Convent de Missio is a gorgeous converted convent with great décor throughout. Wonderful staff, room, restaurant and a very nice roof terrace and pool. Very quiet at night as on a small street. — JH, July 2017

This is the third time we’ve been back to you, so thanks again for your help & friendly service. My wife and I ended our holiday with a few days here. An excellent end to our trip. Stylish comfortable room and top restaurant. — FG, September 2016

Convent de Missio has got even better with the addition of a plunge pool on the terrace. We rebooked as we had a lovely stay a few years back, so we were pleased with the changes. The hotel restaurant (Fosh) is still excellent and we made the most of the lunch time prices. — AT, June 2016

A very trendy hotel with very warm and professional staff. A very good combination! Breakfast / food was also excellent and we had lunch there one day which was delicious and good value. — RD, October 2015

I am a picky traveller but I would rate this hotel. For starters the building and interiors are beautiful. My room was inviting and meticulously clean. Breakfast (buffet and hot dishes) was very good, and Monica’s attentiveness helped. Yes, I would return. — LK, September 2015

Thank you for organising a lovely trip for us. We just stayed for a couple of nights at Convent Missio but it was well worth the visit. The location was great and close to all the attractions of the old town area. We really enjoyed the calm of this hotel contrasting with the city. The people who worked throughout the hotel all added to our positive experience. — CB, June 2015

We had a great 2 nights at convent de la missio. We arrived by car but I would recommend guests just to take a taxi as the location is very central and not great for novice city drivers (!) We loved the feel and style of our room and the commual areas. Breakfast was very good with lots of variety and continental offerings. Palma is really great city. — KL, July 2014
