The beautiful country estate of Es Lligats has eleven detached villas with luxury contemporary interiors, a huge pool and only a 10 minute drive to the coast.

The original farmhouse where the owner was born, is now converted into a welcoming reception and breakfast area. The other eleven independent buildings were built and finished in 2017, using traditional local craftsmen and tradesmen to ensure they blended with the surrounds. Each villa carefully balances traditional Mallorcan country style with modern interiors and luxurious comforts.

All these nestle within an expansive country estate and are surrounded by glorious rural views and olive, almond and orange trees. At the heart of the estate lie a large swimming pool, decking, relaxing seating, pretty gardens and chill out areas. This is the perfect spot to relax, unwind and enjoy the peace.

Some of the villas also have their own pools, so guests can take a plunge privately. All the villas are unique and are individually decorated within a neutral scheme. They are all light, airy and very comfortably furnished: each with a fully equipped kitchen, living room, bedrooms and terraces with views towards the countryside.

The kitchen only needs to be used as and when you wish as a delicious breakfast is served every day either on the main dining terrace or in the stylish dining room.

Toni, the manager lives locally and is on hand to advise on daily excursions, restaurants and practicalities. He’s drawn up a list of 25 restaurants within 15 minutes’ drive to cover everyone’s wish list. Nothing is too much trouble, and a chef can be arranged to bring dinner to the villa or can cook at the villa and explain the methods used to create dishes.

There’s plenty to explore nearby and the Via Verde, literally ‘the green way’ is on the doorstep. This former railway line offers 30 kms of track which is ideal for off road cycling, walking, horse riding or that early morning run. It cuts through the rural landscape from Arta to Manacor and runs close to the southern beaches.

For those that don’t want to move too far from this idyllic setting, this winter there are plans a foot to create a spa area with a warm pool, Jacuzzi and small fitness area.
