Set on the pretty sandy beach of Canyamel in East Mallorca, Melbeach adults only hotel and spa offers somewhere relaxed, comfortable and contemporary to stay.  If you are longing for glorious sea views and plenty of time paddling in the clear sea, then this hotel is for you. There’s easy direct access onto the beach, where the hotel has its own comfy wooden loungers for guests and there are more loungers and sea views on the decking surrounding the hotels modern infinity pool. If you don’t want to move too far, make use of the pool side bar and café whose terrace sits looking out to sea.

The elegant and airy restaurant has a bank of floor to ceiling windows to let diners enjoy the magical endless sea views. Here, seasonal and fresh produce is used to create delicious Mediterrean dishes. In the mornings, a generous buffet breakfast is served here and on the terrace.

To make sure you feel totally relaxed and blissed out, the hotel also has a Spa with a heated pool, thermal circuit, sauna, steam bath, Jacuzzi as well as treatment rooms.

All 32 rooms at Melbeach have sea views and are light, airy and tranquil with all the modern touches expected by today’s travellers. Large windows, balconies and terraces abound to make sure guests can make the most of the seafront location.

If you feel like exploring then you can walk to the restaurants in the seaside village of Canyamel, or venture a little further to the nearby ancient and attractive old towns of Arta and Capdepera which offer a good selection restaurants and shops. For those that need to burn off some energy, head into the picturesque and hilly Serra de Llevant Natural Park for some hiking or cycling.

Thanks we had a lovely time. Both hotels were very good. The rooms were very comfortable and the hotel staff were very pleasant and efficient. The locations were great as well. — PT

Great boutique adult only hotel. Right on the beach so couldn’t be closer to the sea. Room had a great sea view. Staff friendly, breakfast good and there were excellent cocktails to be had. — PR

Everything was just great thank you. The hotel is really well run and has a great location. — K & BF

Another good recommendation from you guys. Our room had a beautiful view of the sea and the beach was great. The restaurant was a little pricey but the quality matched the price. — TR

All was great, thank you. Beautiful décor, amazing views and warm atmosphere. Having to book a higher level of room category due to availability turned out to be a good thing. Our room, sea view and balcony really made the stay. Meals at the hotel were excellent and we enjoyed sampling the cocktails and ever changing gin menu from the terrace. — SG

Can’t find fault with this hotel. A cool hotel right on the beach with endless sea views. Our room was stylish and comfortable with a view that was definitely worth waking up to. The friendly service, delicious food and drink and easy access to the beach made this a very enjoyable stay. — DC

Great beachside location in Canyamel. We opted for a standard room but still got a breathtaking sea view (am not sure if there are any rooms without the sea view?). Definitely somewhere to return to. — PT

Melbeach Hotel is a fantastic place to stay. It’s tucked away on Canyamel beach on the North East coast of Mallorca, only an hour from the airport by car. The beach has 2 other bars/restaurants which are great for lunch and there is a fine dining restaurant at the other side of the bay. We arrived late but the reception manager, Matteo, was very helpful and brought our suitcases up to the room for us. We had a couple of drinks in the lounge and then went up to our room on the 4th floor. We were delighted with our room. It looked like it had just been renovated as everything was spotless and new. There was plenty of space with a lounge area, patio and finally a brilliant roof terrace looking straight over the bay. The following morning we had breakfast outside on the terrace. There was a bit of confusion about the menu as it was on the back seat of a laminated a5 sheet. This could be improved. The buffet was excellent with almost everything you could want. The hotel has its own restaurant. We had pate, steak and polenta chips – both very good indeed. For lunch again we ate on the terrace. You order from the ‘snack’ menu. Everything we had at lunch time was excellent. Try grilled prawns or smoked salmon wrap (they call it a kebab but it’s a wrap!) We used the spa and Paula was excellent. A few points they could improve on if I am being picky… The wine list is rather limited. Most if not all red wines are heavy Mallorcan wines which were good if that’s what you like. However Francis was very helpful in choosing ones my wife liked. For a hotel of this quality I’d expect bottled water in the room every day and fresh fruit. They have a daft system where they give you vouchers for the beach towels. Is this really necessary??? Also we were not allowed to eat lunch up on the club lounge which, in March, meant that you were eating in the shade. The outdoor gym overlooking the sea is a great idea but the machines all need replacing. If I ran this hotel I’d make sure the sunbeds were all lined up again every night. It just tidies the place up! The weather when we were there was c20 degrees and sunny every day. It felt a lot warmer, particularly on our shielded, roof top terrace. This felt like a 5* hotel and with a bit more consistency of staff delivery and communication, it should be. Highly recommended from us!! When you’re there go to Canyamel Castle and have a lazy, traditional Mallorcan lunch there. Go to the Bonanza Italian, super friendly staff and great food. Arta market on Tuesday was great, and only 10 minutes drive away. Cap Vermel restaurant for one evening. — JH

Thanks for your help. This is a nice modern boutique hotel with friendly staff, good food and direct access onto the sandy beach, so we were very happy. We also liked Canyamel and its small shops and restaurants. — DM

All in all our holiday was thoroughly enjoyable and I can see us wanting to return to the Melbeach in the future. Do have some thoughts about the experience as a whole which you might wish to share with them. Hopefully the (few) negative ones are constructive…. Firstly the staff at the hotel are amazing and their biggest asset. Design and art aspect of the hotel, chilled image and cleanliness etc second to none. Genius idea offering 18+ only. We probably wouldn’t have considered going if it had been a ‘family’ hotel. This is an untapped market for hotels, currently few offer it. Outside spaces including pool and sun loungers were fantastic with the direct access to beach hard to beat. The only gripe we had was with the food. Breakfast was great and lunch was pretty good too. Dinner was a disappointment for us though. One of us is vegetarian (and that obviously also means no fish…) and the menu didn’t cater for that which is unwise in this day and age. Summary is a great hotel that we would love to go back at some point, but unless the kitchen had changed significantly we wouldn’t be stopping in for dinner! — RP
