The elegant and welcoming country house of Can Estades is situated in the west of the island, close to the old town of Calvia. It’s in a great location with easy access to a variety of places: nice beaches, stunning mountains and the island’s capital Palma.

The 16th century house has been tastefully renovated into a peaceful hideaway. Original arches and other architectural features have been preserved to compliment the interior style and classic furnishings. The romantic, pretty double rooms, studios and apartments are individually and comfortably furnished with antique beds and pale walls.

Can Estades is a spacious hidden retreat with tranquil views towards the mountains. To make the most of the views, even the swimming pool has been positioned on raised ground so guests can take a dip and look out to the countryside. As well as the poolside loungers, there are plenty of areas in which to relax: the attractive gardens, the main terrace or the house’s welcoming living areas.

The best spot to enjoy breakfast is on the main terrace with its picturesque mountain views. The friendly owners make sure there is a generous spread to choose from, with an array of fresh local produce and local cheeses and hams to set guests up for the day.

We had a delightful room, spotlessly clean, really comfortable bed, lovely breakfast both on the terrace and in the dining room, and the owners kindly put an extra bed in the room for our daughter who arrived for the weekend as we were moving north to a house near Pollenca. We really appreciated that. (our daughter is thirty and we had such a laugh – the last time we all shared a room I think she was about 10!). Can Estades is a high quality, luxury ‘finca’. Everything was perfect. Suite, food, facilities were absolutely first class. Quiet and secluded, when we go back we will stay longer and hire a car. This year we did everything by taxi. Norbert and Christianna were impeccable hosts with an international client group.
