Castell de Son Claret is the essence of high end luxury with a two star Michelin restaurant, beautiful gardens and pool, sumptuous rooms and suites and a serene ambience to soothe any soul.
With picture postcard views in all directions, the hotel is in a great location, next to the pretty village of Es Capdella, beneath the picturesque Tramuntana mountains, and with easy access to lovely sandy beaches and the glamorous seafront at Puerto Portals.
Dating back as far as 1450, the impressive manor house, eight smaller houses and stables have now been meticulously converted into 38 spacious rooms and suites. Due to the castle like structure, some suites have terraces, whilst others have private gardens and a couple of rooms in the former stables even have their own swimming pools for the ultimate privacy. All the rooms are individually designed using a neutral palette, yet all offer space, luxury, comfort and style.
With 325 acres of private grounds to explore and enjoy this really is a secret hideaway. The gardens are maintained to a high level with perfect spots created for relaxed picnics and to enjoy the surrounds. For those wanting to exercise there are trails through the pretty estate, ideal for walking, running or cycling. The estate has beautiful formal gardens and also areas full of almond and orange groves.
One of the best spots for unwinding is by the large salt water pool, which looks out over a beautiful valley filled with almond trees and towards the Tramuntana mountain range.
The hotel is also an oasis for foodies as it boasts two restaurants (one of them being the two Michelin star restaurant Zaranda), as well as an on-site bakery. Zaranda headed up by Fernando Perez Arellano, uses home grown produce to create imaginative dishes to satisfy the most discerning guests. Whilst Olivera restaurant has a more relaxed feel, offering delicious breakfasts, lunches and a la carte evening meals.
Son Claret is somewhere rather special, for those wanting to really unwind and indulge in some serious ‘me’ time.
