The country retreat of Can Quatre sits in a peaceful location, yet is just a 10 minute walk from the pretty town of Soller’s main square. Surrounded by views of the picturesque Tramuntana mountains, the traditional Mallorcan building retains its original charm but has been renovated and updated to create a welcoming and relaxing small hotel.

Outside, the estate has large lush, well-tended gardens enjoying far reaching views to Soller’s famous mountain backdrop. This is a perfect peaceful spot for a lazy afternoon, with an inviting swimming pool, comfortable loungers and some welcome shade provide by ancient olive and palm trees.

Breakfasts are a treat, with a large array of beautifully presented homemade and local produce on offer. The Castañer family, the friendly Mallorcan owners, make the most of the local delicacies, serving light summer time lunches by the pool as well as evening meals on request and special tapas, BBQ and paella nights.

All the bedrooms are individually decorated in neutral tones that work well with the houses original features of stone walls and beams. Seven rooms are situated in the main house and three more are dotted in the garden. The large suite at the top of the house has stunning views and a large terrace. The superior suites in the garden are ideal for families with separate sitting rooms.

The owners pride themselves on discreet service and attention to detail, and have created a winning formula of allowing guests space to unwind yet feel well looked after. In spring and autumn, a big hit is the weekly walking trips arranged by Senor Castañer. Guests enjoy exploring the mountains, the fresh air and beautiful walking routes, as well as the delicious lunch provided right in the midst of the Tramuntana mountain range.

We had a really lovely holiday in both hotels. Can Quatre was absolutely fantastic in every way. The attic room we stayed in was beautiful, with gorgeous views and fabulous decor. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the gardens and swimming pool was a perfect place to spend an afternoon. Really could not fault it and if we go back to Soller would definitely go back there. —

What a wonderful hotel! Small, friendly, with great food and just fabulous views. We stayed in the 3 bedroom villa located in the beautiful grounds and it was honestly one of our best holidays. The hotel staff were on it, friendly but never too pushy. We normally stay in villa only accommodation so weren’t sure how we’d get on in a hotel. But the relaxed manor and flexibility of when / if you ate in the hotel (you choose from the set menu each day by 3pm and then dine whenever you are ready between 7 and 9pm). The charming town of Soller is only a 10 / 15 minute walk from the hotel so it was effortless either eating out or choosing to eat at the hotel – which we often did, and it was lovely. The Port and beach is easy to access too – a 10 minute drive, 40 min walk or the tram too which has a stop close to the hotel. I know people often say it, but definitely, we’ll be back! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Can Quatre. We are very pleased with your service, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were lovely, we had a lovely room, breakfast was superb and lunches and dinner were very good. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, the pool was lovely, and we appreciated the fact that there was a children’s pool tucked away and no child under 12 was allowed to use the adult pool. The walking distance to the centre of town was 15 minutes, and there were so many lovely restaurants, as well as the train and bus station from where we could go anywhere. The hotel staff advised on bus and train times and anything else we needed to know, and booked taxis for us when we required one. We didn’t hire a car, as we wanted a stress free break – which we had. All in all we had a great stay there. Many thanks for the help The Other Mallorca gave us, and we hope to book again with you. We absolutely loved Can Quatre. The location was great, close enough to walk to the old town but peaceful too. The finca was very stylish and the room comfortable and tastefully decorated. The gardens were gorgeous and there are two pools, one for adults and older children, plus another for younger livelier guests. — K & SD

We had an amazing holiday thank you. We could not fault Can Quatre, perfect location with the most breathtaking scenery, friendly, welcoming & attentive staff and spacious accommodation. The hotel itself is beautiful. Stunning gardens, so pretty and extremely clean. We had a very enjoyable lunch on our first day & a delicious breakfast (with the best orange juice & eggs) each morning. We went out for dinner so can not comment on their evening menu but we did sample their gin & tonic which has to be one of the best g&t’s we have ever had. The staff were super friendly, efficient & really good with our daughter Milly. We regularly stay in small, boutique hotels & were a little nervous staying somewhere like this with a small baby in tow but we needn’t have worried, the staff made us feel extremely comfortable & welcome. Milly even had her own high chair & children’s cutlery set throughout the stay. The location was great in terms of going into the old town or down to the harbour. We changed rooms after the first night & the moving process was extremely smooth. Our dealings with you/your company have been fantastic as well. We are big fans of Mallorca & have visited several times but this is the first time we came across your company. The accommodation you have on offer is completely up our street & all the information you provided before we went was fantastic. Thank you for organising a wonderful holiday. Can Quatre: The accommodation was superb and the junior suite was just what we wanted. Taking breakfast on the terrace with a mixed international client group was educational and fascinating. The quality of food both at breakfast and at lunch time was terrific. However the best part of the hotel were the staff. They were friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. A 15 minute slow and easy stroll took us into the centre of Soller. Bars, restaurants, town square were all in very easy reach. Fully recommended. All in all a brilliant holiday. Thank you. — K & PT-K
